Software engineering losing its glory?

With many people shifting from one s/w company to another and from one career to another, is the s/w glory finally coming to an end? i am not sure what is the big deal about that field anyway.

why are s/w engineering celebrated everywhere???

Probably just the big bucks, else i think its just as good as any other field and its high time for the hype to come down.
